Terms of Service
Last updated September 30, 2026. This is a starting draft for Healthtrek and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Do not treat it as final before a real launch — see the review checklist at the bottom.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Healthtrek ("Healthtrek," "we," "us"), including healthtrek.store and the Healthtrek mobile app. By using Healthtrek you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Healthtrek is
Healthtrek generates personalized meal plans, shopping lists, and estimated grocery costs based on information you provide. Healthtrek is a planning tool. It is not a medical, nutrition, or dietetic service, and it does not replace advice from a doctor, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional — especially if you have an allergy, medical condition, or are pregnant or nursing. Always verify ingredients and allergens yourself before eating or serving a meal.
3. Accounts
You can use the core planning experience — the quiz, a generated week, and its shopping list — without creating an account. An account is only needed to save a plan across visits, sync it to the mobile app, or receive a plan by email. Accounts are for anyone 13 or older. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.
4. Pricing accuracy disclaimer
Grocery prices shown in Healthtrek are estimates unless a screen explicitly says a price came from a live retailer lookup at a specific store location. Even live prices can be wrong or out of date: retailers change prices and promotions constantly, inventory varies by location, and Healthtrek's matching between an ingredient and a specific retail product is automated and imperfect. Do not rely on any total shown in Healthtrek as a guarantee of what you will actually pay at checkout. Always confirm the price at the store or in the retailer's own app before purchasing.
5. Cost and Healthtrek Plus
Healthtrek offers free features and an optional Healthtrek Plus subscription. Current Plus choices are $6.99 per week, $9.99 per month, or $39.99 per year, with a 14-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. When you start a trial, you authorize Stripe to charge the displayed recurring price when the trial ends and at each renewal until you cancel. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the first charge. You can cancel from your account page; access continues through the end of the paid billing period. Except where the law requires otherwise, charges already made are non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds. Taxes may apply. We may change future pricing or features with reasonable advance notice; changes do not affect a period already paid for. See the Cancellation & Refund Policy.
5A. Food safety, allergies, and health information
You are responsible for checking every ingredient, label, allergen, use-by date, cooking temperature, storage instruction, and dietary restriction before buying, preparing, or serving food. Automated substitutions and recipe suggestions can be incomplete or wrong. If you have a food allergy, medical condition, or therapeutic diet, consult a qualified clinician and do not rely on Healthtrek as your sole source of information. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse Healthtrek: don't attempt to scrape, resell, or redistribute its recipe catalog or pricing data in bulk; don't attempt to disrupt the service (including automated abuse of the plan-generation or store-lookup features); don't use the service for anything unlawful.
7. Third-party services
Healthtrek uses third-party providers to operate: Supabase (accounts and data storage), Stripe (Plus billing), Resend (email delivery), Kroger's public Product API (live pricing at Kroger-family stores), Pexels and OpenAI-generated imagery (recipe photos), and hosting/CDN infrastructure. Your use of Healthtrek is also subject to the availability of these providers; we are not responsible for their outages or errors, though we try to degrade gracefully (for example, falling back to an estimated price if a retailer's API is unavailable).
8. Intellectual property
The Healthtrek name, logo, and site design belong to Healthtrek. Recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists generated for you are yours to use, print, cook from, and share personally. Don't use our name, logo, or branding to imply an endorsement or affiliation without asking first.
9. Disclaimers
Healthtrek is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that any recipe, nutrition detail, ingredient list, price estimate, or store inventory shown is complete, current, or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Healthtrek and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service — including any reliance on a price estimate, a recipe, or an allergen listing. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent the law where you live allows.
11. Termination
You can stop using Healthtrek and delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate Section 6 (Acceptable use).
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [state/country where Healthtrek is legally based — fill in before launch], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where your local consumer-protection law requires otherwise. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Healthtrek about using the service.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms as Healthtrek changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Before real launch — review checklist
Have a licensed attorney review this page (and the Privacy Policy) before relying on it, and confirm: (a) the limitation-of-liability and disclaimer language is enforceable in every state/country you sell into, (b) the governing-law/dispute clause and Oregon choice of law actually fit where you're incorporated and where your users are, (c) whether you want formal arbitration language instead of ordinary courts, and (d) age requirements (e.g. 18+ instead of 13+) if you want to restrict minors further.
